Fuimos un grupo de 17 personas desde España (15 pilotos y dos acompañantes). Lo pasamos genial! La competición fue maravillosa con meteo súper, techo hasta 3800m y 4 mangas voladas. Yo volé’ 53km, 42km y gol, y 57km en las últimas tres mangas! El ambiente, las montanas del Himalaya, los monasterios Tibetanos y Hindú; la gente muy amable, la organización muy buena; todo fue perfecto. La competición fue ganada por el piloto polaco Maliszewski Wojciech (Axis Mercury), segundo fue el ruso Maslennikov Dmitry (SOL Dynamic) y tercero el holandés Hugo Robben (UP Targa2). 4 españoles en los primeros 15 de la clasificación (Jordi Vendrell, Paco Villar, Miguel A. Martínez, y Cecilio Valenzuela). Segunda de las mujeres fue Rosi Rodriguez. Yo acabe 33 en la general sumando más de 1500 puntos.

One of the best holidays I’ve ever had. We were a group of 17 people from Spain.
We arrived in Delhi the evening of the 12th October. The impact with India was very intense with its noises, its traffic, the people everywhere, the chaos, the smells etc.
We slept in a Hotel of the Himachal Toursim chain and the next morning at 9 am we got on a coach and left for the Himachal. The trip lasted some 15 hours and we finally arrived in Bir at
around 11pm. We stayed in the local Tibetan Monastery, in the Tibetan colony of Bir.
The place is of an outstanding beauty, with the Pre-Himalaya mountain range, the Tibetan and Hindu temples, the very nice and polite people, the very spiritual and relaxing atmosphere; but most of all for me was the awesome flying. Cloud base at 3800m with an oustanding view of the
5000 an 6000 Himalaya peaks, ridge soaring at 3200m close to the mountain rocks, the goal in the third task (42km) etc. I finished 33rd in the ranking, totalling more than 1500 points and
flying some nice distances (53, 42 and 57km respectively).
